Yara Shahidi Has the Same Favorite Bag that You Did in the '90s

So last night I really desperately needed some static spray as my outfit was clinging to me, which is why it happens to be in this fanny pack. My god, okay, wait. I'm gonna just think that maybe only you, no [INAUDIBLE], would keep static guard in a mumu fanny pack. You are so on brand, you make me so happy. Please go on. Thank you. Well this actually because it's just so convenient. Yes. It's a nice large Size. Yes. It's pretty fitted. Look at the curve, like it fits right here. Uh-huh. Can you apply it to yourself? Of course. Let's apply it. I have not applied a fanny pack to myself ever since like fanny packs 1.0. [LAUGH] No, but see->> Like in the 90s when you were not even spawned yet. [LAUGH] But it's honestly big enough to fit my wallet and half of my brother in here, and- Half of your brother? Which half? If you turn sideways. Yeah, okay. And if you stick out a couple of small ones. And then I hold the rest of him. [SOUND]

Yara Shahidi may only be 17 years old, but she’s already a bona fide style star. The Grown-ish actress has displayed her fashion prowess from the red carpet to her Instagram account, and now she’s telling InStyle some of the secrets to her success.

The actress appeared on this week’s episode of Dirty Laundry with InStyle Editor-in-Chief Laura Brown on People TV, and brought some of her favorite pieces for a spin. It turns out that one of Shahidi’s favorite accessories is the same bag that fashion girls are currently obsessed with.

The teen showed Brown her favorite Miu Miu fanny pack, along with proof that she can’t stop wearing it. “OK, this has some actual stuff in it right now. So last night I really desperately needed some static spray as my outfit was clinging to me, which is why it happens to be in this fanny pack,” she said as she took out a can of static spray.

“It’s just so convenient,” Shahidi added of the fanny pack. “It’s a nice large size. It’s pretty fitted. Look at the curve. It fits right here. It’s honestly big enough to fit my wallet and like half of my brother in here,” she joked.
