This brings new meaning to cheese cake.

During an outing in Wales Thursday at Cardiff Castle, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had an impromptu wedding cake tasting session, and it was anything but a sweet treat.

The Welsh wedding cake they nibbled was made entirely of cheese, according to People, which reported that the unique dessert was constructed from layers of Black Bomber, an extra mature cheddar; Red Storm, a vintage Red Leicester; Beechwood, a smoked cheddar; and Green Thunder, a cheddar with garlic and herbs cheese.

“Oh my goodness. How sweet is that?” Meghan reportedly said when she saw the cake created by the the Snowdonia Cheese Company, adding that it was “really delicious” after she took a bite.

The outing marked the couple’s first joint official outing to Wales, but there’s a good chance they won’t take the wedding cake home as a souvenir. The duo has a sweeter choice in mind for their wedding cake (supposedly a cake made from bananas), which falls in line with British tradition.

According to the mag, the top tier of British wedding cakes are fruit cakes, because it lasts long enough to be served at the christening of the couple’s first child.
